( 3.1 / 781 )It's been a long time. No good excuses, just busy. And good busy. Craig finally got himself together and posted a bunch of photos from our summer adventures. I'm sure he'll get around to writing something witty and sentimental about them, but in the meantime I wanted to add these pictures from my phone that didn't make it with the others.
First up we have a pic with the iconic Durango/Silverton train. Craig told the kids he wanted to see it every day we were there, and I think he did. Mudslides made for some scheduling troubles for the passengers, but the gawkers adjusted easily.
Next up is Henry's birthday picture. He decided for his birthday party this year to have ice cream sundaes instead of cake. We had the party the day before his birthday, and it was great fun. Lego cars racing on a plywood ramp in our living room, bingo with prizes, a treasure hunt leading to water balloons, pizza, and of course sundaes. We had sundaes on his real birthday too.
About a week ago the kids and I traveled to Wichita Falls to visit Bob & Dodie. We had a great visit complete with home cooking, playing piano and pool, war stories, and shirley temple movies. Like Austin, Wichita Falls has been very hot, so we mainly ventured outside to their pretty patio in the morning for breakfast.

( 3 / 725 )A couple of weeks ago I built a couple of workbenches for the garage. I cannot believe that I didn't build them sooner, but since Henry and I have been using the floor for projects lately, it seemed like a good time.
I build a workbench for me first and then had the kids help me build one for them. They had a great time drilling and screwing.
After I got them both in position, Kathryn put all of her tools on my workbench, while Henry took over the small workbench that they were supposed to share.

( 3 / 825 )We have had a crazy last week of school. Henry took two sick days - Tuesday and Thursday. And Kathryn left early a couple of days because she has been feeling badly. -- The two illnesses are unrelated which makes me wonder what my weekend will be like when the illnesses combine in my body.
Given that today was the last day of the school year, I thought I would post the notes that the kids gave to their teachers this morning.
